Measuring Up

If you've got an odd shape to fill with a cushion, that's no problem!
With curves, we'll usually ask for a paper template to be sent to us of the entire shape, to copy for the  finished cushion.
For an initial quote, we'll ask for the maximum length and maximum width as well as thickness.

For long, arc shaped, curved fire-pit style cushions, we'll need the maximum length and maximum width for an initial quote.

It can be helpful to make a template from the get go to help with these measurements.
We will ask for a paper template to work from if you choose to go a ahead with the order also.

Semi-circular seating areas will require a paper template to be sent to us before finalising an order for this shape cushion. 

However, for an initial quote, we'll just ask for the maximum length and width of the area.
A photo of the space is usually very helpful with curved cushions like this too.

If you've got an odd shaped area that needs a cushion that's all straight edges and angles, we'll ask initially for just the maximum length and maximum width for a quote. 
A photo of the area is much appreciated at this stage too to give us an idea of the space.

When we get to the stage of finalising the details in preparation for an order we'll need more info.

We usually have a couple of options at this point:

- If you're happy measuring angles (using a protractor, or an angle measuring app on your phone), we can work with measurements and angles that you can email over to us - we'll talk you through exactly which measurements we'll need from you.

- Alternatively, you can send in a paper template for us to work from and copy the shaping from.
If you're able to let us know which of these two options you'd prefer when you initially contact us, that's a gret help.

Making up sets of cushions to fill a bay window seating area works roughly the same as one of the trapezium shapes or odd shapes above. 

We'll initially just need the maximum length and width of each of the cushions in the area.

Again, a photo of the space at the point is usually very helpful.

Corner seating benches will usually have a cut off corner cushion in the middle. 

For an initial quote, we'll ask for the length and width for the rectangular parts. For the cut off corner cushion, we'll ask for the maximum length across the middle of the seat pad, and the width going across the other way. 

If you know what thickness you'd like the cushions to be, pop that through in your initial enquiry as well, but we can talk through the options if you're not sure yet.

We may need a few more measurements or angles before proceeding with an order.

We can make up cushions with cut outs at either or both sides. These cut outs can help your cushion fit around wall fixtures or to fit nicely between the arm struts of monk's benches or church pew seats.

For an initial quote, we'll just need to know the rough shaping, as well as the full width and full length of the cushion.

This set up presumes all angles are right angles. If you've got some larger or smaller angles going on, we'll treat the cushion as a "Custom Shape - Straight Edges".
